weekly squeeze: take care of your mind as well as your body
I decided to put a little twist on this week’s “weekly squeeze” post. We like to provide tips to help you make small changes to your diet or eating style to prep you for your special event but today, with the holiday stress already in motion, I figured it would help to share some ideas for coping with stress! So basically we’d like for you to try and squeeeeeze some “me time” to take care of yourself.
Whether you’re in the midst of planning a wedding, holiday party, or just every day life…it’s incredibly important to take time for yourself mentally and physically. If you don’t get control of your stress then you will eventually burn out and that’s not good for anyone! Try some of the strategies below and figure out what works best for you. Even if you can only spare a few minutes a day, or even a week, it’s better than nothing!
- positive self talk – you should be your biggest cheerleader!
- work out – even if it’s just a short walk outside
- create a retreat in your own home – dim the lights, close your eyes, and listen to some music
- let go of the things you cannot control (one tip I still need to conquer!)
Have any coping skills to share? Feel free to leave a comment!
