Ugh, today is just plain ugly. I guess I can’t complain considering it’s only April and we’ve been pretty spoiled with nice weather lately (I have a fresh sunburn from yesterday to prove it!).

If you’re looking for something to do today, maybe to keep your kids occupied, bring out an old umbrella and put your painting skills to good use. We found an easy activity from Martha Stewart (of course) that is sure to keep everyone happy and dry. All you need is a nylon umbrella, paintbrushes, and permanent waterproof paint, such as fabric paint or acrylic. Be sure to follow the paint manufacturer’s directions as they may vary. Don’t forget to keep the umbrella open long enough to dry (I would say overnight for sure).

Expecting rain on your wedding day? Make umbrellas for your bridal party (don’t forget about yourself and the groom!). Keep them simple by writing their names on them or just Bridesmaid, Groomsman, Bride, and Groom. These would make for cute pictures! Don’t be upset by the weather…make it work for you!
