put a twist on the traditional rehearsal dinner
Rehearsal dinners can sometimes get a bit overlooked in the midst of all the wedding planning. Sure, you don’t want it to be another version of the wedding with tons of food and beverages and a hefty bill at the end of the night, but don’t feel like you have to keep it overly simple. Treat your guests to something different as part of the weekend’s festivities. Use it as a night to relax before the day-of stress kicks in. Here are some pretty awesome options to take a look at…sorry kids, most of these are in the Baltimore area BUT can be adapted anywhere!
Urban Pirates Cruise – Yea that’s right, a Pirate Cruise. Set sail from downtown Baltimore and get a pirate themed tour on the water.
The Lady Baltimore or The Black Eyed Susan (or any boat cruise!) - Keeping with the water theme, both of these boat options are sure to be a good time. These can be especially fun if you have out of town guests so you’re also showing them around the city.
Crab Feast – You can have these anywhere, including your home. But if you’re looking to keep it simple (make someone else do the prep and the cooking!) try out a crab house. My favorite is Nick’s Fish House. Just remember to add some variety to the food options as not all people like crabs (I call those people “weirdos”).
A Bowling Alley – Seriously! I have no idea what made me think of this but really….how fun!!! Talk about letting loose before the big day. Who doesn’t like bowling?! You can keep the food simple to go with the atmosphere and it’s a great way for people to get to know each other, especially if the family’s are meeting each other for the first time. In the Baltimore area? Try Mustang Alley…it’s a bit “high class” compared to your typical bowling alley and the food is FANTASTIC!
I could go on a bit more with other ideas, but I’ll stop here. Interested in more? Contact us and we’d love to help you plan it! And remember, these places would be great locations for ANY type of party, so don’t hold back!
