wedding spotlight: ashley and frank – nov. 6, 2010
So today’s wedding spotlight features me and my husband Frank! Frank and I were married a year ago today in my hometown (Endicott, NY) in a traditional church ceremony with quite a fun reception! We knew from the start that we had to make sure the whole day represented us. I’ll be honest, we even picked out one of the readings for the mass because it was about the celebration where water was turned into wine, who wouldn’t want to be able to do that (sorry mom)?!
As far as my favorite details from the day go, I will try not to be biased, but everything was amazing! Keeping the fall season in mind our favors were candy apples from the local cider mill that we added customized ribbon to (our name/date of the wedding). We also had a candy bar for people to help themselves to as much as they wanted — my mom even made sure all of the candy was red and gray to go with our color scheme.
But in addition to the apples, candy, and of course..the wedding cake…there was one more (large) piece of our reception that was extra special. THE DESSERT ROOM! Yes, I said “room.” Unfortunately I don’t have a picture to share (since most of the images I have show everything have eaten) but I think my friends can attest to the fact that this may have just been the best part of the day (aside from the getting married part of course). I’ve never really been a big fan of cake so Frank and I wanted to give people options for dessert. These options ended up including 12 different types of cheesecakes and 10 trays of Italian cookies (and I’m not talking about cookies from a box). Aside from ice cream cake, cheesecake is by far my favorite of the cake family so this was a fabulous addition for me. We threw in the Italian cakes because..well…why not?!
Anyway, I cannot believe it’s been a year…and quite a great year at that. Happy Anniversary Frank!
