chalkboards aren’t just for 4th graders anymore!
It seems like making something into a chalkboard is all the rage right now. I promised myself I wouldn’t get sucked into this trend but I lost the battle. I now find myself shopping in stores and looking for chalkboard items I can transform either for household of business use. My most recent experiment was with placements I purchased from Target on sale for 48 cents each…yes, 48 CENTS each…how could I resist?! I bought a can of chalkboard paint spray at Michael’s and immediately got to work. The overall creation took about 10 minutes for 2 mats (I bought 6 but wanted to test them out first) from set up to finish, then I let them dry for 24 hours before I chalked the bad boys up. Take a look at the before and after shots!
I can’t wait to use these at a dinner party to dress up my normal table decor. I’ve also started to think up different ways to use them like menu lists and signage at events or even photo shoot props with messages. SO easy and fun. Who would have thought chalkboards would make a come back?
