There is nothing we love more at lemon & lime event design than love — it’s basically why we do what we do (that, and getting to blame our tendency to buy cute party supplies at Target on our jobs). We spend more time at weddings and other bridal related events than most people, so it’s never far from our minds that events that celebrate love are pretty darn special. So why not make those events happen more often?
We’re not talking hiring a DJ and a caterer and renting out a venue every time you want to show your honey some lovin’ – no, we’re talking about really special date nights. With just a little creativity, you can turn your regular Friday night dinner date into something you and your love will never forget!
1. “Drive-In” Picnic
When the sun starts to get low, load up your car with pillows, quilts, and blankets. Pack a picnic basket with your favorite snacks – popcorn, sandwiches, or whatever you two love! If you’ve got the room, you can even string a few battery operated globe lights along the back of your car. Settle in somewhere private or romantic, and have a “drive-in” picnic – without everyday distractions you’ll get a chance to really be with one another, plus you can snuggle under the stars!
2. Head to the playground
Everyone’s a little bit of a kid at heart. Why not head to the playground (at an hour when it’s not swarming with children) and act out your elementary school days? The swings, monkey bars, and slides can be just as fun for big kids – but this time nobody has cooties. Having a playful night with your honey is sure to be a blast and remind you of how much fun you can have together!
3. Watch a Meteor Shower
Head online to see when the next meteor shower is, and then pack up a blanket and some bug spray and head out to see the stars!
