I’ve been dreaming of reception designs since this weekend’s Evergreen Museum wedding - our couple Sarah & Aaron went with a sophisticated and clean neutral scheme adorned with pops of bright floral pinks and rich greens (check out our Facebook album – we’ll be updating with all of the details soon!) The whole look seemed to fit their personalities so well – executing Sarah’s vision was just a dream come true. It got me thinking – wouldn’t it be fun to create a lookbook for a reception inspired by a certain theme? Of course I was immediately drawn to a feminine vintage look – you just can’t go wrong with “old becomes new again” girlish charm.
I’d keep the color palette in creams, browns, and golds except for one element, like the navy patterned napkins. A vintage dresser is a great place to showcase framed photos of the couple as well as a collection spot for cards and gifts. It’s also a great way to get that something old or borrowed – if a relative has vintage furniture that can be repurposed in the reception space, make use of it! The fashion would be kept demure – BHLDN‘s dresses are breathtaking, and when combined with gold jewelry they make for one sophisticated bridal look.
