planning a colorful and fun 30th birthday partay
So today starts the last year of my 20′s. I’m not freaking out, I’m not sad… I’m ok and excited for 29!
Many of my friends and I will celebrate our entrance into our 30′s in 2012 and I got to thinking of some fun ideas for 30th birthday parties. When I think of turning 30, I think lots of fun, bright, vivid colors that will give the event an exciting and vibrant feel. I’ll want lots of happy, cheery thoughts! Welcome 30 with color. Heres what I found!
Invites:
I will definitely be excited to eat, drink and dance on my 30th birthday so these below invites from tinyprints.com are perfect. I like the different fonts used and the coloring too!
I’ve loved Erin Condren far before she graced the pages of People, Shape, Real Simple, etc. She has great design talent and I love her products. I love these long colorful invites AND the matching return address lables too!
These high heel invites aren’t quite my style, but I do love the 3D-ness of them. Very creative! You can find these on invatationbox.com
Desserts:
When it comes to cake’s it gets tricky because there are so many choices these days. From cakes to cupcakes, cake pops, cake balls… ahhhh! decisions, decisions.
I love these birthday cake pops from Bakerella:

m&m cake that can be any color scheme! I’d have to switch out that first number though.
I used to live a 5 blocks from georgetown cupcake, and although 500 other cupcakes places have since opened up in DC, they are still my favorite. The key lime pie makes you feel like you’re in key west!
favors:
We’re never too old for favors. I love these personalized wine labels. Leaving a party was a bottle of wine? perfect! The below are from the small creatures shop on Etsy.
You could also send guests home with food… these margarita cookies from martha stewart are colorful and fun. My favorite drink is actually blueberry vodka and soda, but the margarita cookies are a bit more festive!
Decorations:
I would use simple decorations yet very colorful.
I love this paper garland from pure joy events:
I know tissue paper balls have been around for awhile, but I still love them.
I like this look too from the Extreme and Weird Weddings blog:
How cute are these polka dot napkins from plates & napkins?
dress:
I love this look from Kate Spade! A solid color dress with colorful accesories, tights and shoes!
If anyone knows colorful, it’s Lilly. Even though my own birthday celebration would take place in October, I think the below would still work for fall.

Here is another fun option from modcloth.com
Those are some some random ideas. I can’t wait to celebrate everyone’s big 3-0′s next year. If you need help planning a birthday partay for someone, shoot me an email at katey@lemonandlimeevent.com. Here’s to one last year in our 20′s!
